„Have you developed some tools?“ Today I had the pleasure to meet interesting people from all around the #NFDI at the 4th NFDI Berlin-Brandenburg network meeting (https://events.hifis.net/event/3380/). The event was about #provenance and #reproducibility and people represented diverse fields, spanning astronomy, medicine, chemistry and history. I am always impressed by the wealth of practical solutions and tools, e.g., to document workflows and create metadata. I too enjoy coding, but stickin...

"we speak a secret language" Do we hide behind jargon in #sts ? What a great first day at #STSNL26 the first STS conference of dutch WTMC. Our deep dive on science reform and metascience reminds us to be self-reflective and critical of our own field. #STSNL

An everyday lesson about #classification taught by #DeutscheBahn. Breakage was turned into an abstract category that can be assigned irrespective of what broke, even if it is obvious.

Is anyone else here going to attend the #FOR2026 „The Future of Open Research. Reliable, Equitable, Responsible“ Conference in Munich? The program looks very interesting. A lot of #OpenScience practitioners and visionaries but also critics, accounts from the #ScienceStudies etc. I am already getting hyped. https://opensciencestudies.eu/for-2026-conference/

"Many of the loudest Open Science advocates are deeply embedded in the very systems they critique such as traditional publishing, prestige-driven academia and grant-dependent research cultures. They speak the language of reform while continuing to “play the game” remarkably well. Researchers who sit on advisory boards talk about preprints but then celebrate publishing their latest Nature paper" https://www.themodernpeer.com/people-the-problem-in-open-science/ #OpenScience #Op...
