  I've moved a lot in my life (over 40 different places), and it always takes me a long time to unpack and organize.   I moved recently and have been opening boxes. Saw a house centipede scurry by, then later found it near a puddle in the bathtub. "Aww, it was thirsty!" Maybe stuck in a box during the move and happy to be loose again. Began to worry if it won't find a mate in my new apartment. Went to Wikipedia to learn more about them. THEY LIVE 3 TO 7 YEARS??   As an #exvangelical, it is a huge deal that not a single person has wished me happy Easter today (or tried to initiate the "He is risen / He is risen indeed" thing). Feeling really fucking happy and proud of my life choices. My nervous system is so much calmer today than it was 20 years ago. Please don't ruin this by wishing me a happy Easter lol 😆

  I love the lack of algorithm here (like deeply and truly). It feels amazing to not be part of a massive Conflict And Clout Engine. But I do miss great posts sometimes, from accounts I follow and enjoy, just because I'm not looking at that precise moment. Are there any Mastodon tools that show you certain posts you missed? The criteria could be 1) accounts you follow 2) whose posts you've liked or boosted before 3) whose current post has at least 3 likes or boosts. Something like...

  Yes the U.S. has a terrible president but the very role of president guarantees eventual terribleness. When you create a powerful position, it's just a matter of time before the worst kind of person attains it, and by then all your precious checks and balances have eroded as well
