Any indie devs found benefit in keeping an indie dev journal about what they're working on? #indieDev #iOSDev #macOSDev

Hi friends, so I'm now without a job and needing to find some work super quickly. I'm looking for iOS / macOS / visionOS work in Melbourne Australia or remote. Also able to do Ruby web and backend work. Please get in touch or point me in the direction of any leads. Boosts appreciated. #iOSDev #macOSDev #webDev #rubyDev #getFediHired

So I've been working away at a new project that hopefully addresses the common problem indie developers have around "how can I keep track of where the releases are at for my many different projects". So I built a web app and it's now live at https://shipwhenready.app. Would love some feedback on it. #indieDev #iOSDev #macOSDev #webDev

Comments that only make sense to cyclists. “I only did an easy ride, 50km and not even 1000m of elevation” while being oblivious to the fact that for most people that isn’t an easy ride at lunch time. #cycling #health

Okay indie iOS and macOS developers, how do you manage all the extra stuff about a release. What tools do you use to plan things and make sure everything is done? #iOSDev #macOSDev #indieDev #buildInPublic

If you release a new web app / service and it doesn't have an MCP from day one, is it really worth releasing it?

Domain names for side projects registered + 1.

Okay #ruby friends, I need to deploy a new app build with Hanami and postgresql, is Heroku still the easiest option for deployment? At the moment I just want simple deployment rather than worrying about bells and whistles.

That annoying and horrible self doubt / imposter syndrome when building a site and you go "will anyone actually use this?". #webDev #indieDev #iOSDev #macOSDev #buildInPublic

Like, I think the idea has legs and it's something a lot of indie developers will find useful, it's just imposter syndrome hitting hard right now.

But then again, the only way to know if it's a success is to put the site up online and hoping that others will make use of it as well.

This week has been crazy. First week back from 3 week holiday from $job and getting back into the swing of things. Evenings spent building a web app to solve an indie dev problem and now finally implementing a feature in @ridejournal that I've been wanting implemented for a very long time. How in the void is it only Wednesday? #iOSDev #health #cycling #indieDev

And we're now back to the claude requesting access to random folders on my mac that I will never give it access to.

Looking very much like an indoor trainer day today in Melbourne. #cycling

There are two cities dear to my heart that I would love to one day live in, those are Tokyo and San Francisco. So much so that when friends mention them I have a longing deep in my heart to be there again.

@corduroy would love your opinion on https://mobilebuilds.app since you mentioned using Xcode Cloud the other day. It’s finally available on iOS.

@zachsimone finally got through the AppStore review process with https://mobilebuilds.app. It’s now available on iOS.

Drumroll please. It’s release time. My latest app Mobile Builds is now available on iOS. It’s a way of visualising data from Xcode Cloud. https://mobilebuilds.app #iOSDev #macOSDev #buildTools #buildInPublic

So we're now at the point where the cost to have fully functional UI tests of an iOS app is zero. Unfortunately we are still having to deal with XCUITest which is just painful. Bring on #wwdc. Would love to see a new UI testing framework make an appearance. #iOSDev #macOSDev

Slow code Fridays. Put away the AI tooling and enjoy the time spent writing code by hand.

Just a casual 54km ride this morning. I’m excited and dreading when I finally decide to do a ride like Mt Pleasant. Mainly because after I’ve done it once I’ll just keep doing that ride daily. #melbourne #cycling

Okay friends, does anyone have experience using Procreate for doing sketchnotes? With #wwdc coming up I would love to just use that for note taking while watching the videos.

I always struggle to remember the details of what goes into each build of the apps I work on so a few days back I wrote a shell script to automate it as a step in my Xcode Cloud workflow. The write up about it is at https://cuteios.dev/2026/05/10/shell-scripts/ #iOSDev #Xcode #automation
