  @AAKL @mttaggart this back and forth highlights an important distinction we should all try to make more often. Citizens are not their countries and they are certainly not the people in charge of their countries these days. I think this goes for just about every country these days.

  Nothing better than reading someone’s “framework” for AI risk management and recognizing it’s mostly written or at least converted by Claude. Has anyone published an open source toolkit for stylometric analysis of text as a means to detect AI? I know Northeastern had a paper on it, but didn’t share anything tangible. I refuse to pay someone to detect humanity…

  Ughghh I feel like I already knew this more or less but, true anonymity more than anything is about minimizing transmission. Period. There will always be a way to fingerprint you, given enough data.

  Sigh. Was looking at freenet and then the guy had to open his mouth and say decentralized content discovery via “unbiased” LLM writing “neutral” descriptions. Why the fuck would you think for any amount of time that LLMs are unbiased? The guy harps about opaque boxes from search engine algorithms and then slaps some AI on that shit? What a hipocrit lol.

  Look I get that hugging face is a 1st hand source, but they really didn’t provide any evidence or rationale explaining how they know the attack was LLM-based and they have a lot to gain by not only naming a Chinese open-source LLM but by also feeding into fear-based marketing… for all I know the models they used were hallucinating the “breach.” Nothing tampered with, no exfil, what even fucking happened lmao. I’m not buying this. Yet.

OpenAI is “still on track for what could be one of the largest initial public offerings in history” and is still valued in the multi-hundred billion range while regular citizens are becoming unemployed by FOMO obsessive c-suites.
