I was today years old when I realized that we indeed fall into darkness for several months and then spring back into the light.

I’m digging it. I don’t start getting woken up by by sunlight at 4am unlike the height of summer. Being in coastal northeastern Japan, I really think we need to move the time zone by an hour or two so the sun comes up closer to 5 or 6 in summer. I do lament our lack of summer this year. We had the rainiest weather on record in many parts of Japan. Days and weeks without a rainless day.

For those in the states, is this something a change with daylight savings can fix? I’m in the dark on that (pun!) and wondering if a change could help?

As a light skinned person in a warm climate, this but unironically.
