the rich techbros warning about the potential catastrophic dangers of AI in terms of, "they might cause a billion deaths because superintelligent AGI!" rather than, "we've made the conscious decision to use this error-prone chatbot to review health insurance claims" sure is a psyop if I've ever seen one

"okay, we concede that this technology will result in bad things. but that's just because it's so cool and badass!" is something that I expect to hear from ten year olds playing with robot toys, not from the alleged Great Men who essentially run our economy
