Still in the EU, I used a service to switch electric companies. All the telcos offer to cancel your old contract, but then they fight each other and you’re always the loser. It’s unreal.

Not my experience at all. There are well defined processes, you pay 2 bucks to send a letter with delivery guarantees and its done. Yeah, that’s old school and not online, but it works, comes with legal guarantees and has always been absolutely hassle free for me. That being said, not all EU countries are the same.
