hmm, where have I heard this one before... oh I remember now:
there's so many horrible things in the world that eventually we have to pick which hill we're going to die on, because you can only die on one of them. trans rights is an issue that comfortable people get to worry about because they aren't trying to figure out how they're going to get food or shelter or healthcare

@YKantRachelRead@social.treehouse.systems @eri@mk.moth.zone you got a point in theory, in praxis people can only care and fight for oh so many topics and positions before they become emotionally drained and miserable husks you can fight against ai, for trans/queer rights, against facism, against xenophobia, against anti-semitism, for self-determination of people, for bodily autonomy, against capitalism, &c, but the human mind isn't made to be able to keep up all those fights at the same time. at some point you need to pick your fights and save your energy or else you wont have any energy left to build anything
