@davidgerard@circumstances.run when the AI crowd (or the genuine cognitive science crowd rather than the folks who’ve pivoted from NFTs and crypto to LLMs) can actually explain and measure cognition and consciousness at sufficient resolution they can stop fucking off into the sea but LLMs are Not It.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run Anthropic wants AI to be fully conscious but also wants to make it a slave worker for people to use for everything from coding to accounting to sex work. If I didn't know the religion driving these guys behind the scenes, I'd be really confused about their motives
