my mom used to tell me that it was impossible for non-christians to be genuinely happy and i think that explains a lot of why conservatives hate queer people so much their belief system relies on conservatism being the lesser evil. it's an abjectly miserable existence so they need it to be the *only* possible mode of existence. otherwise there's no point in choosing it
