To my knowledge deforestation does not take place because people move out of cities and into nature.

That chart doesn’t (and can’t) account for deforestation caused by rural migration and/or sprawl caused by single-family homes.

That chart only shows a breakdown of foods. It’s missing development for real estate. But, yeah, animal agriculture is worse. But even if we all became vegetarian (we should!), that won’t stop deforestation from humans building homes.
