@jensorensen@mastodon.social Well put. That little bump of sanity coincided with a (possibly unsustainable?) bump in access to mined resources, though -- I get depressed when I think about the implications.

@shonin@c.im @jensorensen@mastodon.social We can finesse most of the "Peak X" limits except for energy. Renewables like Solar and Wind are good and we need more, but we also need nuclear for baseload generation or the (too slow) switchover from fossil fuels will stall (even aside from the current administration's efforts). Hopefully fusion in some form becomes commercially viable soon-ish, but meanwhile fission is what we've got. With enough cheap energy, every other extracted resource limit can be overcome.
