I'm not saying I believe he's alive, but is there a single aspect surrounding his alleged death that doesn't sound like it's a complete fabrication?

Sounds like a limited hangout: "Yeah we did a body switcheroo, but he's really dead, trust us." They had a fake body on hand, ready to go just in case he unexpectedly suicides himself.
