From Sep 1943 to Italy’s liberation in April 1945 Ada Gobetti ran a network of safe houses in Turin for antifascists in need of refuge. She survived WW2 & in 1956 published her autobiography based on her wartime diary, written in cryptic English code. She died March 14, 1968. On Oct 2, 1978 she was posthumously awarded the Italian Silver Medal of Military Valor for her role in the anti-fascist resistance movement.
