Right... not quite a post-mortem because I didn't get blocked. Still, it's a good time to think about lessons learned. This a pretty transparent subtoot, by the way. No point in denying it. I might not have had enough context before wading in, but that's not really important. What is important is that when it comes to boundaries, it has to be something that both parties are comfortable with. In the spirit of non-violent communication, sometimes one party should reflect and withdraw. For me, though, I'm not 100% sold on the idea of ownership of a thread just because you started it, but if you think about it in terms of setting up your own stall instead of butting in to someone else's, then that's a good idea. Fuck the fascists who interpret the "marketplace of ideas" as an invitation to gladiatorial combat. Fuck the Charlie Kirks of this world, in other words. There are other ways of setting out your own stall that aren't inherently aggressive and exploitative. There's too much attachment and aversion in this world, I think. There might be a middle way that's better.
