Raven recalled something the queen had said under her breath. "Is this your idea," she asked, "or your mother's?"
"This is Mother's idea," the prince said, "but I agree with her."
"Changing gender to please your mother is a bad idea," Raven stated.
"Oh? Isn't that exactly what you did?"
Raven grew flustered. "No! I mean... I was undecided about becoming fully a girl. My parents just gave me a push...."
