Amelia Hamer is having another tilt at politics. Previously, she failed to win Kooyong. It was practically the safest "safe" Federal seat until lost by former Treasurer, Joshua Frydenberg. Monique Ryan took that "blue ribbon" seat for the Teals and is doing a good enough job to hold it for multiple terms. This time, Amelia Hamer is trying to win the State seat of Malvern, one of the more "old money" seats in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It's down the road from her home in a different state seat, in the even more affluent suburb of Hawthorn. Amelia Hamer describes herself as a renter although she's a NIMBY and a landlord. She owns property in London, and more recently bought property in Melbourne, where she's lived for several whole months of her adult life.
