@molly0xfff@hachyderm.io I think as silly as the naming dispute is, Google and Apple bending the knee (again) is a pretty important and worrying signal. "Keep making them do stupid stuff so they'll have learned not to say no when you ask them to do evil stuff." as the saying goes.
