The U.S., Denmark and Greenland said late on Friday they had entered into an agreement for the U.S. to ‌develop a significant military presence on Greenland, while prohibiting American adversaries from building their own bases on the island.     @dkmackinnon@ottawa.place Heard this on the BBC last night and thought it very odd none of my other hourly news updates said a thing, including the CBC. Like, how did this emerge so contrary to every prior word from Denmark? Was it "an offer you can't refuse"?

    @dkmackinnon@ottawa.place agreement from 1951 and updated in 2004 It gives little Donald a victory and nothing changes. US had 17 bases during Cold War
