A big part of masking is often eating things you don't actually like in my experience. NT people can get really angry if you don't eat something they made, and often are aggressive if you split up food and only eat parts. Eating is often a very sensitive topic, and for many people is often a very stressful time. If it isn't for you, please try to remember to always be careful and think about what you say. On top of that, a lot of people love focusing on food when gathering together. Going out for coffee, a dinner-date, and the movies, are just a few examples. This may be excluding some people who get stressed in these types of situations, so it might be a good idea to keep other ideas/suggestions ready. @actuallyautistic@a.gup.pe #ActuallyAutistic

@RosethornRangerTTV@catcatnya.com @actuallyautistic@a.gup.pe yes people are strange about food! I wonder if it's because most of us, NT and ND alike are forced to eat things we don't want to when we were children so we develop some weird ways of justifying that in retrospect. Like, how oddly agresive people get when they figure out someone doesn't eat gluten or meat, or when you decline to "just try" some random food.
