It's not a position, it's a fact, based on professional programming training, professional work and University "AI" courses.
You can obviously write a program or create a system that has the illusion of intelligence. As we don't have clear definition, it's possible to think a system is intelligent. That's a failure of logic and critical thinking.
No road map for real artificial intelligence. Loads of useful programs have AI labels. LLM/Generative/Agentic dead ends.

Also, "Illusion of intelligence" is an unfalsifiable claim, what observable behaviour would count as non-illusory? And you just said it yourself that we don't have a clear definition of intelligence in the first place @briankrebs@infosec.exchange
