If you run GNOME on your Linux machine with multiple monitors under Wayland (so no xrandr) and you regularly switch between different monitor configurations, I recommend taking a look at gdctl at some point. It's been part of Mutter since GNOME 48 and has probably saved me hours of clicking around in the "Displays" UI by now. https://man.archlinux.org/man/gdctl.1.en With gdctl you can setup short 1-line scripts to enable or disable specific monitors, set specific resolutions and refresh rates, rotations and positions, enable or disable VRR, designate the primary monitor and so on. You can then run these from the terminal or wrap them in .desktop files to trigger them from wherever. (I personally use such a setup to switch between 5 different monitor configurations that are all accessible from my ArcMenu context menu with a single click. ๐Ÿ˜…) Add some auto-start functionality to the mix and you can do even more like always restoring some default setup at startup - no matter what you used when shutting down. Take a look if you have the time. ๐Ÿ‘ #linux #gnome
