There's ten tracks on this album, all between 5 and 8 minutes long, and all with piles and piles of lyrics. Each of these tracks had 8-10 verses, if not more, and nary a chorus amongst them. It almost feels like this was his application to the Nobel Committee, showcasing what a great lyricist he is. I found them uninteresting, like a high-school required reading assignment, and there's no ππ₯πͺπ°π΅'π΄ ππΆπͺπ₯π¦ to help you out. (cont)

To make matters worse, I find most of these songs indistinguishable from another. Themes, melodies, instrumentation, all of it sounds the same, track to track. It seems like Dylan was experimenting with different lyrics for the same tune, which is a good exercise, but a bad concept for an album. (cont)
