The Southern Reach trilogy isn’t given enough credit. Vander Meer does an amazing job explaining the unexplainable and his prose is pretty fucking beautiful, despite its modernity. House of Leaves, which I’m in the middle of right now, is an all-consuming void and occupies my mind pretty much constantly. Which is cool, given the subject matter.
