The NIUS and Springer circles who in their hatred of Merkel for a decade promoted Merz as the shining conservative savior are now slamming him for flaws that were visible decades ago.
It's almost as if the clique around Reichelt and Döpfner have terrible political judgement.

The extent to which the same circles around Reichelt and Döpfner that once pitched and now have ditched Merz as the man to save Germany from Merkel are now flirting with the AfD reminds me a bit of the 1990s Russian oligarchs who were convinced they could keep that Putin fellow under control
