@Unixbigot@aus.social @typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt @hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange I dunno, I certainly felt culture shock when I went to live in Japan for 3 years. I got used to it pretty quickly, but things still stuck out to me as "why don't they do things like they do back home" (yes I was young and naive). But when I moved back to the UK after 3 years of Japan, yes, I did experience reverse culture shock. It didn't last long, but when you get used to things, changes and differences really stand out.

@Unixbigot@aus.social @hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange what do you mean. I'm not american and I experienced "reverse culture shock" when i went back home after away for a long time. Nothing american about that. The "reverse" just means it's the opposite direction from the forward culture shock of leaving your home country.
