in the late 1950s, where he painted portraits and their son, actor and director Mario Van Peebles, was born. The family subsequently returned to the United States. Van Peebles died on September 21, 2021, aged 89, at his home in Manhattan. [To me that seems a better way to die, surrounded by loved ones. Hopefully he passed peacefully.] Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melvin_Van_Peebles (2/2)
