@jensorensen@mastodon.social Seriously though, our side is terrible at branding and staying in control of the framing. This is spot on. I wrote a joke toot yesterday about how N95 masks stop the woke mind virus. It would be so easy to use their own beliefs to get them to act better.

This fails to explain why similar idiocy abounded in Europe, however. Even in the nations where Trump was viewed as an evil buffoon by the people at large. The west's pathetic handling of COVID-19 was not (only) Trumpish. There was a strong element of racial politics involved. "We can't do that. That's what the CHINESE do and they're genetically evil!"
