@F100@mastodon.social Japan was occupied after 1945. We do not need to imagine occupation; we experienced it. For that reason, I reject the casual use of occupation as a rhetorical counterfactual. My paper addresses the responsibility burdens imposed by continuing war. A different hypothetical does not refute that analysis.
