The labour of having to nudge, remind, cajole my health care providers to actually send in referrals is peak late-stage capitalism. Everyone is overwhelmed and paperwork falls through the cracks. The task of ensuring access to care has been downloaded to the individual. Neoliberalism in healthcare sucks.
