Don't know why I randomly thought of this while watching an unrelated play just now, but next spring (March 2027) is the 100 year anniversary of the Dutch opening their concentration camp at Boven Digul in Papua. I wonder if it's going to be commemorated anywhere and in what context. (Indonesia? Netherlands?) nothing coming up when I try googling it in English and Indonesian but it's still a way off...

So far I asked my former supervisor who is linked to the Indonesian Institute of Social History and he didn't know of any plans & would ask around; & a Dutch artist friend who has staged exhibitions about Digoel internees before, who hadn't heard of anything either but was open to planning something.
