@pluralistic You may find my current project interesting. I'm building a small and fast bridge between RSS and Instapaper (and therefore Kobo ereaders) that is intended for people who just want to read in peace, and is engineered from the ground up to always be free.

My engineering goals include Radical Minimalism, Empathy for Users, Empathy for Maintainers, and an Adlerian Separation of Tasks.

  • @ClariNerd@mastodon.social @pluralistic@mamot.fr Wallabag is a free and open source alternative  to Instapaper. You can self host it and it has RSS already built in. If you put KOreader on your reading device, it gets even better. KOreader can talk to Wallabag, sync articles and mark the ones you finished as read in Wallabag.
