One thing I remember about the 2008 financial crisis was the number of vintage VW Beetles I would see whenever gas prices spiked. It's like millions of people had them mothballed for just such an occasion.
I suspect Cash 4 Clunkers claimed some of them, and probably the near-20 years of sitting and, just whatever else, has probably killed off a lot more. It makes me sad.
Assuming I return to America, my intention is to daily-drive a classic.

My buddy in high school had one that his Dad had owned so he was the original owner. I always wanted to have one.

Cash for Clunkers was the absolute worst fucking thing ever in existence . The fact that we have to constantly prop up these auto manufacturers is disgusting. Imagine being told you need to cross your perfectly running and driving car so you can get credit to buy a brand new one and people took shit like priceless old muscle cars because they're idiots
