As far as I can tell, the argument here is that China is winning the "making machines that do useful and practical things" race while the USA is winning in the "dumbing down society with untrustworthy text generators" race. Well done, USA? 🤨 Kinda cool (from a purely technical standpoint) that US export controls enforced on foreign companies required China to be creative and efficient, though.
