Huh, fascinating: so conceptually it makes sense to charge up thermal batteries using excess solar to provide heat later on.
I just saw a video arguing the inverse: for climates where air conditioning is useful, excess solar can be used to cool a mass to provide refrigeration later on.
Imo there's something really satisfying about the parity between these having hot and cold masses to regulate climate?
