What about software compatibility? Its already not amazing on linux it would be even worse on bsd. I guess that is only an issue for you if its an issue for you.

What software do you -need- to work? Going into it with the mindset of finding the linux workflow instead of forcing your prior workflow is the path of (least resistance|greatest productivity)
