the reason why you constantly hear leaf blowers is that olde english common law carried over to north america allowed squatters to take lands that were not adequately raked,,

@flamingspork this is the lost etymology of “rake”: a ne’er-do-well who supports his promiscuous lifestyle by raking unkept lands in order to claim them for his own profit.
