If you've ever seen the Studio Ghibli film "Spirited Away," you can think of JD #Vance as the character called #No-Face. It seeks only to belong. It swallows up other characters around it and starts behaving like them. It seeks to buy its way into popularity. But it has no personality of its own until it leaves society to live a hermit-like existence with someone who is self-assured enough not to seek external validation. Right now Vance is like No-Face in the bathhouse. He has swallowed some ideas and is vomiting them back up. But underneath, there is nothing. Just an empty void seeking to be filled with power.
