Saw The Ribbon Hero, a new anime movie based on Osamu Tezuka's Ribbon no Kishi As was clear from the very first trailer it barely resembles the source material, but this is an adaptation/inspired work that should be shoved down the throats of adaptation purists as an example of what kind of good shit you can get without adhering to 'faithfulness' Plot was pretty simple and I wish there was a little more of a connection between some of the side cast to the original characters than name and appearance but it's no big deal. Good ass action scenes, actually just good ass scenes all around I also really like how it both takes new inspiration from what originally inspired Ribbon no Kishi and also borrows back from the culture the original work helped inspire Anyway, lots to think about under the surface too, and difficult to verbalize. Maybe I'll return to it if I can get my thoughts in order Go watch this
