I'm not capitalistic. I'm an out lesbian & a queer activist in the South since the late 90s. I own 2 queer business (private practice & nonprofit) & do not make any money from the non profit bc the point is to help queer people & not myself. I'm a queer therapist & I have helped a lot of queer people by forgiving balances & working 12 hour days. I'm not rich. I was born into extreme poverty & up through more than half of my adulthood. Homeless on two occasions. I've survived family violence, intimate partner violence, homophobic violence, gender discrimination & transphobic discrimination, bullying by partners, bullying at the workplace, gender based pay discrimination, medical discrimination, 1 family member murdered, 1 female friend murdered, multiple family suicides, lots of friends' suicides & overdoses. I once walked in during an armed robbery, had guns pointed in my face three separate times, was threatened to be killed by a skinhead. I've been written about in brietbart & doxxed. I've survived all of this & more. This week, I learned that my billing specialist didn't submit half of my insurance claims for 2025. Over $20,000 worth of work that I did, I did not get compensated.
