If a piece of internet wants me to pay to continue reading, or upload my passport to access it, then I'm just going to not do that.

I know that sounds flippant, but it's true. I'd rather use an offline Amiga with a local copy of Wikipedia on my NAS than use the internet service that The Man wants us to use.

@guffo The problem becomes when you have to use that piece of Internet in order to perform important or routine tasks. Laundromats where you can only activate the machines using a smartphone app are just the tip of the iceberg.
