A maintenance package might use a different approach:
- A one-time onboarding fee of $99
- The first recurring payment after the initial setup
- Monthly billing thereafter
- Customer cancellation through the account area
When using a trial, explain three details prominently: the trial duration, the date or event that triggers payment, and the amount of the future recurring charge. Do not rely on customers to interpret small print at the bottom of the page. (17/40)

Consider whether a trial should require a payment method at signup. Requiring one can make the transition to a paid plan smoother, but it may also create more hesitation. The right choice depends on your product, audience, payment gateway, and refund policy. (18/40)
