I been awfully quiet for most of a month cause busy. So far, I have:
✔️ Rebuilt/replaced half the front door steps.
✔️ Repaired the front/back entry doors so they open and shut properly, and installed deadbolts.
✔️ Installed a new toilet, discovering "my friend can fix that for cheap" horrors. (this whole house reeks of that thought process, btw.)
✔️ Installed a new range hood
✔️ Planed the bedroom doors so they'd open and close properly.
✔️ "Repaired" the shower drain (really I just put a rubber seal down to fill space and then a decent amount of silicone to seal everything AMAP, likely replace that shower stall with something else)
✔️ Installed a new bathroom faucet, which "magically" fixed the cold water pressure there, so
✔️ DC'd the kitchen faucet hot water hose and blew it out with my compressor which "magically" fixed the hot water issue there
✔️ Installed a PVC/ABS awning over the front door (yeah it's plastic with aluminum bracing strips but it was cheap and feels sturdy enough once bolted to the house + it looks nice, plan to put one over the kitchen window to deal with summer sun)
✔️ Rebuilt the back porch which was rotting out due to a corroded bit of weather stripping
✔️ Tore the ramp off the back porch (led straight to the back yard, assume a more elderly than me person wanted to keep ability to get out there) which was rotting out, discovered the porch end foundation was rotten, rebuilt that and ended the porch with a railing.
✔️ Prepped up an area in the back yard for a 10x6' shed, which involved tearing out a fire pit of railroad tie, bunch of broken paving stones, cherry tree sucklings and roots, leveling the area and placing foundation stones. Building shed today.
✔️ Replaced some bottom skirting with lattice/mesh wire to let the crawl space breathe, smelled mildew so def necessary.
Still have managed to find time to play a little NMS and check out the new Expedition tho. Not sure if being trained to clean toxic waste is Hello Games being cute or prescient 🤪
