After 3 trips past the splice, cut it again so I could spool it without unspooling. Taped one end of the splice, and 10 mi uses later it was wound. Re-spliced the tape. Total elapsed time to figure this out was 2 or 3 hours lol. #8track #repair

Lol so now I have two Carpenter's albums again. This still needs replacement foam pads inside. 5/16 inch. Wondering if window foam will work. 🤔 #8track #repair

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org I never had occasion to fix 8 track, my dad as Over the Road truck driver had one, he made up a kludge box to hold CB and 8 track, with antennae bracket welded to vise grips that he would clamp to mirror bracket (he normally had different semi for each run). But it never gave him problems.
