If US gets defeated in Iran, its very much possible that it comes as a shock to Americans in a way that may threaten Trump Presidency. What I mean is, Americans have a cope that they don't lose wars, "we didn't lost in Nam we were winning, but those dam leftists politicians and student protests meant we had to pull out and the war ended next year" "we didn't lost in Afghanistan, we just had terrible allies that could not handle themselves" "we didn't lost against the Houthis, we openned the strait by bombing even tho they still have missiles to close it again" etc, everything is "1991 Iraq, look how Superpowers do war" But losing against Iran would shatter this in ways that others would not, ofc some retards would still cope, as they are doing now "we bombing every single building they have, how can they be winning?" losing the forest for the trees... But the reason is because this will end either by the US simply having no means to defend Israel, having to make any peace agreement with Iran, or it ends with US having to make any peace agreement with Iran because the Strait of Hormuz still close and their attempt at umblocking it failed hard. Ofc they theorically can win... its unlikely and would require much more troops than they have, and its basically doing search and destroy into missile cities. while theres the entire IRGC and the regular Iranian army just attaking them from every side.
