@nil@functional.cafe I saw something like that mentioned in the papers produced by Alan Kay's Viewpoints Research Institute. They made letters into individual screen objects with rules like "get close to the previous letter" "Don't get too close to any other letter". Then they just dumped the letters on the screen and the letters automagically organized themselves into properly laid out text.
