Hey everyone, #introduction post time. I'm Fiona Fayne, the pen name of @taedryn@anarres.family. I'm a trans woman who came out in 2022 after a couple years locked down from covid gave me time to think. I've been writing for many years, having "won" NaNoWriMo five times so far, and decided it was time to actually try writing as a for-real thing instead of a disposable hobby. At this moment, I'm in the midst of editing my first romance, which is provisionally titled Queering the Game, a trans/cis sapphic romance novel that starts with a queer D&D game, and features enthusiastic consent, open communication, a near-complete lack of "miscommunication comedy" conflicts, and really explicit sex. I enjoy the irony that I'm writing long, hot sex scenes as an asexual (but sex-positive) woman. It also includes neurodiversity, and a realistic (but not depressing) portrayal of what life is like as a trans woman, both good and bad. I am, let's say, publishing-curious, but haven't started really looking into the publishing game yet. If you want to regale me with tales of publishing woe or success, I am eager to hear them.
