I recently switched from a T-Mobile plan that was really not necessary in terms of cost and data use, I had unlimited but barely used 5 gigs. So I switch to @murena Mobile (which runs on T-mobile) but the cost is lower. However I discovered a number of things that use mobile that do not need to, i.e. backups of e/OS as well as file sink. Realizing more and more how much runs in the background that is just necessary. So now I am doing a full audit of apps and mobile data usage.
