People who hate AI contributions. I accidentally had AI generate a fix for a project that explicitly forbids AI contributions. I wrote about it as https://github.com/icculus/physfs/issues/125 . Notwithstanding that I know you hate that I used AI for anything, was this an acceptable way to handle the situation, or do you think I should have done something different?

@malwareminigun@infosec.exchange I'm new here so I don't exactly fully understand the AI contributions thing. I use gpt6 astra to do all my web design and use it like a typewriting monkey, but all the pitches, jokes, and arguments come from me and I retain full editorial control until I'm happy. AI certainly has its place, it's just not to automate someone's social media feed, I would think. AI is incredibly good at coding, and I'm still shit at python but thanks to using AI to write python for me for years now I've learned to read it through immersion. I guess I'm not someone who hates AI contributions. If AI got the job done for you, puritanism about never using AI seems...well...a bit silly, just imo.
