@testobsessed@ruby.social My guess: They believe (perhaps correctly) that they have enough supporters who are looking for narratives to justify their support, or at least to reduce the unease of cognitive dissonance. I, of course, have no idea the extent to which I seek narratives that justify my own beliefs.
